For ten weeks each year, McDowell changes gear in both Preschool and Grade School as we place a greater emphasis on fun. Our program follows an overarching theme, such as; International or USA travel, Olympics etc., with weekly highlights including crafts, cooking, Wii sports, Lego creativity, art projects, and fun activities like wet Wednesdays, waterslides and bounce houses. We add science, geography and other learning opportunities into the mix and in the primary grades we offer archery and scooter play.
We welcome non McDowell families to the program which can be enjoyed on a week to week basis, or all summer long!
Summer school is available for students in second grade and up and runs for the first three weeks of August in the mornings. There is an emphasis on honing math and language skills, either for a little catch-up, or to get a flying start for the upcoming academic year. This is also an excellent introduction to the school for incoming students.
(Summer School and Camp may be combined)
